Description: A RDV-006 (wide AM, flared designer's initials) die was used to strike this 1988-D cent.  The RDV-006 design first saw widespread use in the following year, 1989.

Comments:  First known use of the RDV-006 design on a Denver cent, making this a transitional design variety.
